The median dues charge on Dueflow is paid 12.6 days after it is issued. Only 37.9% of charges are paid on or before their due date, and members who pay late are a median 7 days late. 68.9% of all dues charges issued have been collected in full. Members split evenly between ACH bank transfer (50.4%) and card (48.3%). Charges with an early-bird discount are paid on time 58.8% of the time versus 37.9% overall, while charges carrying a late fee are paid on time only 31.8% of the time. Across 3,772 dues charges from 41 chapters, charges with at least one automated reminder were paid at 70.8% versus 19.4% with none.

How long do members take to pay dues?
The median chapter member pays a dues charge 12.6 days after it is issued, and the mean is 21.4 days. Across 2,598 paid charges, 29.8% were settled within a week, 56.5% within two weeks, and 83.0% within 30 days; 17.0% took longer than a month. A treasurer who budgets on dues arriving in the first week is budgeting against less than a third of the roster.
What percentage of fraternity and sorority dues are paid on time?
37.9% of dues charges are paid on or before their due date. Of 2,210 charges whose due date has already passed, 838 were paid on time, 1,039 were paid late, and 333 are still unpaid. Among the charges that were eventually paid, 55.4% came in after the deadline, and the median late payment arrived 7 days after the due date. Late payment is the normal case in Greek life finance, not the exception.
Do late fees make members pay dues on time?
Not in this data. Charges that carried a late-fee deadline were paid on time 31.8% of the time (102 of 321 past-due charges) versus 39.0% for charges with no late fee, and were eventually collected at 76.0% versus 86.4%. This is a correlation from live usage, not a controlled test – chapters may attach late fees to the charges they already expect to be hard to collect – but there is no evidence here that a late fee by itself speeds up payment.
Do early-bird discounts make members pay dues faster?
Yes, and by a wide margin. Of 148 past-due charges that offered an early-bird discount, 31.8% were paid before the early deadline and 58.8% were paid on or before the final due date, compared with 37.9% on-time payment across all charges. Early-bird pricing is the only deadline structure in the data that correlates with more on-time payment.
Do members prefer to pay dues by card or by bank transfer?
It is an even split. Of 2,138 paid charges with a recorded payment method, 50.4% were ACH bank transfers, 48.3% were credit or debit cards, 1.2% used Klarna buy-now-pay-later, and 0.1% used other bank rails. A collection process that only accepts cards, or only accepts a peer-to-peer app, is turning away half of the roster's preferred way to pay.
Do automated dues reminders actually work?
Charges with at least one automated reminder were paid at 70.8% (2,570 of 3,628), versus 19.4% (28 of 144) for charges that sent no reminder. 96.2% of dues charges on Dueflow have reminders enabled, so the no-reminder group is small and unusual, and this is observational rather than experimental. The direction is consistent with the December 2025 – August 2026 snapshot (65.0% versus 11.3%) and the gap is large.
How is the fall 2026 dues cycle going so far?
Between August 1 and September 8, 2026, 32 chapters issued 1,670 dues charges on Dueflow, and 43.6% had been paid in full by September 8. Fall charges are being paid slightly faster than the all-time figure: the median fall 2026 payment landed 10.4 days after the charge, versus 12.6 days across the full dataset. Most fall due dates have not yet passed, so the final fall collection rate will be higher.
Methodology
Every figure is computed from Dueflow's production database over all non-voided dues charges created between December 2, 2025 and September 8, 2026 – 3,772 charges across 41 member organizations and 1,943 members. Store orders, donations, and subscription charges are excluded so the numbers describe dues only. Numbers are aggregate and anonymized: no chapter, member, or individual payment is identified, and no dollar amounts for any single organization are published. Collection rate is charges paid in full divided by all charges issued, so charges that are still open and not yet due are counted in the denominator. On-time rate uses only the 2,210 charges whose due date had passed by September 8, 2026. Timing figures use only charges that have been paid. Payment-method shares exclude paid charges recorded before Dueflow stored a method type. The first edition of this page (published August 17, 2026) covered December 2, 2025 – August 16, 2026 and counted all charge types; this edition narrows the sample to dues charges and adds late-fee, early-bird, and fall 2026 figures.
